Course Outline

Week 1

Digital Marketing Fundamentals

The what, why and how of digital marketing.

Build a strong foundation by exploring core concepts like customer journeys, digital channels, the marketing funnel, and branding.

Week 2

Social Media

Connect, engage, and grow your audience.

Learn how to choose the right platforms, build a consistent presence, and create content that builds trust. Explore scheduling tools, engagement tactics, and performance metrics across channels like Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and TikTok.

Week 3

Content Marketing - Video & Visuals

Make your content scroll-stopping

Focus on what makes content engaging and shareable. Learn the principles of visual storytelling, explore Canva for design, and creating video. Understand and use thee formats that grab attention across today’s platforms.

Week 4

Google Business Profile & Website Essentials

Be findable and build credibility.

Learn how to optimise your Google Business Profile to boost your local search visibility. Then focus on your website what makes a good homepage, what to include, how to structure your pages, and how to get found online.

Week 5

Content Marketing - Email, Blogs & AI Tools

Create content that works harder.

Learn how to plan and write content that delivers results from email newsletters to blog posts and lead magnets. We’ll also explore how AI can help speed up content creation, improve your writing, and personalise at scale.

Week 6

Analytics & Your Marketing Plan

Put it into action and track what matters.

In the final week, you’ll learn how to measure your marketing success using key metrics and tools like Google Analytics and platform insights. Then, you’ll pull everything together into a simple, actionable one-page marketing plan—so you're ready to move forward with clarity and confidence.

Funded by the UK government, and FREE if you are taking the course yourself and not through your employer.

ELIGIBILITY

Age Requirement: Must be aged 19 years or over.
Location: All learners must work for a business located within Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire.
Employment Status: Open to self-employed individuals, unemployed individuals, those employed with support from their employer (employer contribution required), and those employed without support from their current employer (no employer contribution required)
Funding: Government funding, eligible individuals can benefit from the fully funded governments Skills Bootcamp initiative
Residency: Must have lived in England for a minimum of 3 years

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

Self-employed participants will gain the skills they need to explore and seize new opportunities to grow their business.
Employed participants (with employer support) can expect either a new role or expanded responsibilities in their current role where their newly acquired skills will be put to use
Employed participants (without employer support) are guaranteed an interview with an employer that is looking to recruit for a role where their new skills are required.
Unemployed participants are also guaranteed an interview with a potential employer where their newly developed skills will be used.
