The strategic management module will start to get you to look at the strategic direction of the business and your area of responsibility. This will be in line with the board (or equivalent) and support you in encouraging employees to buy into the organisations vision.
It will examine the organisations mission, culture and values and use horizon scanning and conceptualisation to deliver high performance strategies that focus on growth.
This module will address how to lead and influence agreed projects to deliver organisational strategy such as change and agile transformation programmes, diversification, new product implementation, and customer experience improvement.
It will explore Innovation; the impact of disruptive technologies (mechanisms that challenge traditional business methods and practices); drivers of change and new ways of working across infrastructure, processes, people and culture and sustainability. It will also look at competitive strategies and entrepreneurial-ism, approaches to effective decision making and the use of big data and insight to implement and manage change. It will finish by looking at brand and reputation management.
By the end of the module you should be able to lead change in your area of responsibility, create an environment for innovation and creativity, establishing the value of ideas and change initiatives and driving continuous improvement.
This module will proactively keep you up to date with social, economic and technological trends and developments relevant to your area of responsibility and the wider organisation.
It will look at how you can promote innovation, address changing requirements and take advantage of new opportunities. You will look at new market strategies, changing customer demands and trend analysis as well as approaches to developing a Corporate Social Responsibility program. It will encourage you to undertake research, and critically analyse and integrate complex information.
This module will look at supporting you to make decisions about organisational resources requirements such as budgets, people and technology based on strategic insight and reliable evidence.
It will give you knowledge around financial strategies, for example scenarios, modelling and identifying trends, application of economic theory to decision-making and how to evaluate financial and non-financial information.
By the end you should be able to challenge strategies and operations in terms of ethics, responsibility, sustainability, resource allocation and business continuity/risk management. Oversee development and monitoring of financial strategies and setting of organisational budgets on key performance indicators (KPIs), and challenge financial assumptions underpinning strategies. Use financial data to allocate resources and oversee procurement, supply chain management and contracts.
