The Great Resignation Became The Great Reshuffle - Now What?
The last few years have seen seismic shifts in employee behaviour due to various social, political...
My name is Anita and I am Management Tutor for Ascento. I started my career in banking and then travelled abroad, working in teaching in Madrid and as cabin crew with Tui. On returning home, I further developed my skills and knowledge in management and assessment and trained in this area of work.
I went on to develop these skills further in the role of Assessor and IQA with a number of training providers, including working with North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
I have a well-rounded background in assessment, IQA practice, with over 10 years’ experience as an Assessor, IQA and Programme Manager. I am highly motivated and a good communicator and have built a strong and professional relationship with several Schools, Colleges, Training Providers and Awarding Organisations.
My biggest achievement to-date is being able to mentor people in situations where they have felt disengaged. This not only resulted in turning the situation totally around but also saw students scoring the highest grades possible at distinction level. I love engaging with people and helping them achieve. No two days are ever the same and I enjoy the variety, challenge and seeing success the students achieve. It makes me always feel so proud!
The topic that I enjoy the most is personal and professional development. Personal development is more about building up your own awareness, knowledge and skills, as well as an overall sense of identity. Professional development is training that is given to managers and people working in professions to increase their knowledge and skills. Apprentices seem to really tune into both areas engaging well and finding areas to develop during their course. It benefits everyone within an organisation.

I am also really interested in motivational theories and Maslow Hierarchy of Needs is my favourite concept. I often apply this to my own apprentices and what they need to feel motivated. Also, I like to use this for my own motivation and development as it makes me systematically think about thematic factors that affect my own potential and well being.
I am so proud to be working for Ascento as we are focused and specialise in programmes and apprenticeships that we deliver. The team are dynamic, passionate and very positive in everything they do. We are a specialist learning provider of Digital Marketing and Leadership & Management programmes The team is very close and well co-ordinated with a real drive to achieve, support apprentices and everyone cares immensely about the quality of the provision.
In my spare time, I enjoy mountain biking, gardening and watercolour painting. I feel hobbies are very important to our lives and enable you to generate positive feelings and boost creativity. It is really important to take time out and look after yourself.
